Sony lists the backlight type as RGB LED with local dimming, controlled by RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro and XR Contrast Booster 20. The aim is to hold saturated colour at high brightness, where conventional white or blue LED backlights tend to thin out. Sony lists Luminance Booster for peak output but, as with all BRAVIA models, publishes no dimming zone count, peak nit figure or colour gamut percentage, so none is quoted here. HDR support covers HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision.
X-Wide Angle Pro for wide seating
An 85-inch screen in a Hong Kong living room is often watched from the side as well as head-on. Sony lists X-Wide Angle Pro for this model, its technology for keeping colour and contrast steadier off-axis; the panel type itself (VA or IPS) is not published. Same 40W sound as the 65-inch, heavier chassis
Sony fits the same four-unit Acoustic Multi-Audio+ system at 85 inches as on the 65-inch: two subwoofers and two full-range drivers at 40W total, with X-Balanced Speaker and Dolby Atmos decoding. The differences are physical. The 85-inch weighs 45.9 kg without its stand against 26.6 kg for the 65-inch, the VESA pattern moves from 300 x 300 to 400 x 400 mm, and the Mirage stand grows from about 343 mm to 443 mm wide, with a 441 mm depth.

Sony lists the packed carton at about 2008 x 1259 x 242 mm and 66 kg gross, so measure the lift car, door frames and corridor turns before ordering, and tell us about any walk-up stairs. For wall mounting, the set weighs 45.9 kg without its stand and uses a 400 x 400 mm VESA pattern; Sony does not publish the panel depth without the stand. Plasterboard false walls need checking before a bracket goes up. Installation is available as a paid service.

Warranty and delivery
This is Hong Kong licensed stock carrying the manufacturer's Hong Kong warranty. The exact warranty term is stated on the warranty card supplied with the set. Viewing is available by appointment at our Kwun Tong showroom.
For an 85-inch set, delivery with tabletop installation is HK$800, or delivery with wall mounting is HK$1,500 with the bracket included. Collection at the Kwun Tong showroom is free, and kerbside drop-off (we bring it to street level) is HK$200. Walk-up buildings without a lift add HK$100 per floor, with no cap. Discovery Bay adds HK$500. Cheung Chau and Lamma Island orders are delivered to the Central pier for self-collection, without installation. Before ordering, please tell us the lift size, the door and corridor width, and whether the TV wall is solid or plasterboard. Installation is a paid service and is not included in the price of the set.

How much cabinet space does the stand need?
The 85-inch uses a single centre Mirage stand with one position. Sony lists the stand at about 443 x 81 x 441 mm (W x H x D) and the TV on its stand at about 1895 x 1159 x 441 mm. Your cabinet needs at least 441 mm of depth for the stand, and a top wide enough to sit comfortably under a 1895 mm screen.
