An action camera with a variable aperture is still rare, and it is what separates the Action 6 from everything around it. The f/2.0 to f/4.0 range does two useful things: it lets in more light when you need it, and at f/4.0 the minimum focus distance drops to 20cm, which turns the camera into something you can shoot close-up product and food footage with. The Standard Combo is the camera with one battery and the mounting basics — the right buy if you already own batteries and poles.
Key features
Variable aperture, and what each setting is for
Three modes: automatic, fixed f/2.8, and f/4.0. Fixed f/2.8 gives a 35cm minimum focus distance and holds exposure steady through changing light. f/4.0 brings focus in to 20cm and adds a six-point starburst to point lights. In auto, the camera decides. This is the feature to explain to anyone deciding between this and last year's model.
A 1/1.1-inch sensor behind it
The sensor is 1/1.1-inch with 2.4μm fused pixels, recording 10-bit with D-Log M and 13.5 stops of dynamic range. Video tops out at 8K 7680 x 4320 at 30fps, with 4K at up to 120fps and 1080p to 240fps for eight-times slow motion. Stills are 38 megapixels in JPEG or RAW.
Waterproof to 20 metres without a case
Twenty metres bare, or 60 metres in the housing, and rated from -20°C. Stabilisation covers RockSteady 3.0 and 3.0+, plus HorizonBalancing and HorizonSteady — the horizon modes work in 16:9 up to 60fps.
Four hours quoted, and a 22-minute charge to 80%
The 1950mAh cold-resistant battery is rated at 240 minutes, measured at 1080p/24fps with RockSteady on and Wi-Fi, voice, gestures and both screens off. Charging reaches 80% in 22 minutes and full in 52. There is 64GB of storage built in (50GB usable) plus microSD to 1TB.

Who it's for
- Anyone who shoots in changing light and wants control over exposure rather than leaving it to a fixed aperture.
- Creators who want close-up work from the same camera they mount on a helmet — f/4.0 focuses from 20cm.
- Divers and swimmers who would rather not carry a housing for shallow water.
- Not for anyone who already owns a first-generation DJI Mic and expects it to pair directly. The Action 6 supports OsmoAudio with current DJI transmitters only.
Warranty and delivery
This is an international version: a brand-new unit brought in from an overseas market, with the same hardware and firmware as local stock, but warranty running through us rather than DJI Hong Kong. Cover is our 10-day exchange for units that fail. Every unit is 100% brand new and you can book a viewing at our Kwun Tong shop before ordering. Full terms are on the warranty policy page, and our parallel import versus licensed goods guide explains the difference in full.
Non-TV items ship by SF Express freight-collect, with the customer paying the shipping fee, or collect free at the Kwun Tong shop between 11:00 and 19:00. Details are on the shipping policy page.
Frequently asked questions
What are the limits on 8K?
8K records in 16:9 only, works with RockSteady and RockSteady+ but not the horizon modes, and does not support the film-look colour tones or quality-priority encoding. Editing 8K in the Mimo app currently requires an iPhone 15 Pro or newer. For most uses 4K at 120fps is the more practical setting.
What does the Standard Combo leave out?
Against the Adventure Combo: two batteries, the multifunction battery case, a 1.5-metre extension rod, a second two-way quick-release adapter and a second locking screw. The camera is identical, so this is purely about accessories.
Will my DJI Mic work with it?
Current DJI microphone transmitters pair directly through OsmoAudio with no receiver, two at a time. The original first-generation DJI Mic does not support this direct pairing. Microphones are sold separately.
