The Samsung U8000H 65-inch Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV is Samsung's 2026 Crystal UHD line: the Crystal Processor 4K, HDR10+, Mega Contrast with UHD Dimming, PurColor, 20W OTS Lite audio and the full Tizen platform, in a Metal Stream three-sided bezel-less design.

Before You Buy: There's a Step Either Side — Here They Are

65 inches is our deepest shelf, and this set has close neighbours in both directions:

If colour is your priority — honestly, HK$200 more takes you to the Q7F at HK$4,980. The quantum dot layer is a real difference in saturation, and at a two-hundred-dollar gap we are not going to pretend otherwise.

So what earns this one its place? Three things: the 2026 platform with Samsung Vision AI (which the U8000F does not have), DLG 120Hz gaming, and Mega Contrast with UHD Dimming. If you want to spend less and don't mind a 2025 model, the U8000F is HK$800 cheaper.

Key Features

Crystal Processor 4K and 4K AI Upscaling

Handles upscaling, noise reduction and colour optimisation. Most of what plays in Hong Kong is broadcast HD or compressed streaming — stretched across 65 inches, how well the upscaler works is immediately visible, and it shapes what you see more often than the panel spec does.

Mega Contrast, UHD Dimming and HDR10+

HDR10+ adjusts brightness scene by scene; Mega Contrast with UHD Dimming adjusts overall backlight level to suit the content, so dark scenes look less washed-out and highlights keep detail. These two are what separate the tiers within Crystal UHD.

PurColor

Widens the range of colour the set can express, for more natural skin tones and landscapes. To be clear: this is Crystal UHD, with no quantum dot layer — for more saturated colour, the Q7F QLED next to it is HK$200 more.

Gaming: 4K 60Hz, and 120Hz at 1080p

Plug in a console and it drops into low-latency mode automatically (ALLM), with VRR against tearing and HGiG keeping HDR game tone mapping accurate. Refresh rate needs stating by resolution: at 4K the ceiling is 60Hz; but via DLG the panel runs a genuine 120Hz at 1080p/2K — not interpolation, but the panel halving vertical resolution to double its scan rate. PS5 and Xbox 120Hz modes output at 1080p, so this is usable.

OTS Lite and Q-Symphony

Does the U8000H support 120Hz?

It depends on resolution: at 4K the ceiling is 60Hz; at 1080p/2K it supports a genuine 120Hz via DLG. PS5 and Xbox 120Hz modes output at 1080p, so they are covered. For 4K 120Hz or 144Hz, this set cannot — see our gaming TVs.

U8000H or Q7F? They're only HK$200 apart.

It is a narrow gap, so here it is straight: the Q7F has a quantum dot layer and wins on colour saturation. The U8000H wins on the 2026 platform, Vision AI and DLG 120Hz. Picture quality — Q7F; newest platform — this one. Ten minutes in front of both at the showroom settles it.

How does it differ from the U8000F?

The U8000F is the 2025 model, HK$800 less, and also Crystal UHD. The U8000H adds the 2026 Samsung Vision AI platform. On picture quality alone the two are close — if you want to save money, take the U8000F.

Does it support Dolby Atmos?

The official spec lists 20W stereo, OTS Lite and Q-Symphony — Atmos is not listed. For real Atmos surround, add a Samsung soundbar and use Q-Symphony.

Does it support Dolby Vision?

No — Samsung runs HDR10+ across its range. This set has HDR10+, Mega Contrast and UHD Dimming.

What wall bracket does it take?

VESA 200 × 200 mm — worth double-checking, because it is not 400×300. We can arrange wall-mount installation; 43"–65" wall-mount is HK$600 with the bracket included.

How far should I sit from a 65-inch?
