StormBox 2 is the step up for people whose small speaker runs out of volume or battery before the day is over. Two 48 mm full-range drivers deliver 2 × 17 W (34 W peak) of 360° sound, an XBass button adds weight to the low end, and two 2600 mAh cells give up to 24 hours at 60% volume with XBass off. It is IPX7 waterproof, has a 3.5 mm AUX input and a carry strap, and two units can run in stereo or party mode.

Key features

360° sound with an XBass button

Two 48 mm full-range drivers produce 2 × 17 W, with 34 W peak, spread around the speaker. The XBass button on the back boosts the bass; its white light shows when XBass is on.

Up to 24 hours of play

Two 2600 mAh cells and Tribit's RunStretch tuning give up to 24 hours at 60% volume with XBass off; turning XBass on shortens that. A full charge takes about 4 hours through the USB-C port under the rubber flap.

Stereo or party with two speakers

Link two StormBox 2 speakers in TWS mode for left and right stereo, or press a TWS button to switch to Party mode, where both play the same sound. Tribit says it can also connect with the StormBox Flow and XSound Plus 2.

App EQ, AUX and IPX7

The Tribit app offers a DIY EQ and six preset scenes. A 3.5 mm AUX input sits next to the USB-C port, and the IPX7 rating covers rain and poolside use.

Who it's for

  • Hikers and campers who need a full day of music

Not ideal for: Not for karaoke or large parties; the StormBox Blast or Blast 2 has far more output for that.

FAQ

How do I switch between stereo and party mode?

With two speakers linked in stereo mode, press either TWS button and a voice prompt confirms the change. In stereo mode one speaker plays left and the other right; in Party mode both play the same channel.

Why am I getting less than 24 hours of battery?

The 24-hour figure is at 60% volume with XBass off. Higher volume or XBass on will shorten playtime.

Can it connect with other Tribit speakers?

Besides another StormBox 2, Tribit says it currently connects only with the StormBox Flow and XSound Plus 2.
