Before you buy: this is not a gaming TV, and we think that should be said
The QN70H panel is natively 50Hz. Samsung's own spec sheet is blunt about it: Refresh Rate 50 Hz, DLG 120 Hz, and HDMI high frame rate capped at 4K 60Hz across HDMI 1/2/3.
In practice: plug in a PS5 or an Xbox Series X and at 4K you get 60Hz. The 120Hz figure comes from DLG (Dual Line Gate) and only applies at 1080p/2K — it is not interpolation, the panel genuinely runs at 120Hz, but it buys that by giving up vertical resolution. It is a trade, not a hidden 4K 120Hz mode.
Two more things worth stating: Samsung's spec sheet lists no VRR and no FreeSync. Both of those appear on the QN70F (FreeSync Premium Pro, VRR Yes) and the M80H (FreeSync Premium, VRR Yes). If gaming is the main reason you are buying, the QN70H is probably not your set.
Which of the three is right for you
| Model | Key specifications |
|---|---|
| QN70H (this one) HK$8,980 | 50Hz native · 4K ceiling 60Hz · DLG 120Hz at 1080p/2K · no VRR, no FreeSync · 25.7mm deep |
| QN70F HK$5,980 | 100Hz native (up to 144Hz) · 4K 144Hz on all four HDMI ports · FreeSync Premium Pro and VRR · 25.7mm deep |
| M80H HK$7,980 | 100Hz native, 144Hz VRR · 4K 144Hz on three HDMI ports · DLG 240Hz · FreeSync Premium and VRR · 76.8mm deep |
Plainly: the QN70F at HK$5,980 is equally slim, has four 4K 144Hz HDMI ports, and costs three thousand dollars less. Want the 2026 platform with high refresh? The M80H at HK$7,980 — but three times the depth. To see the full range: gaming TVs.
So what is the QN70H good at?
Films and everyday television. Quantum Mini LED backlighting with Supreme Mini LED Dimming gives noticeably better shadow control than a conventional LED at this price, and the NQ4 AI Processor handles 4K Upscaling — helpful on free-to-air broadcast and older streaming material. Samsung also lists Color Booster Pro, Contrast Enhancer, HDR Brightness Optimizer, Wide Viewing Angle and Filmmaker Mode.
On HDR, the official listing is NQ HDR plus HDR10+ (Adaptive). Adaptive means the set adjusts HDR output to your room's ambient light — useful in a lot of Hong Kong flats that take direct afternoon sun.
How to read the refresh rate
Refresh rate on this set has to be stated by resolution. A single "120Hz" figure would be misleading:
- 4K (3840 × 2160) — ceiling is 60Hz. HDMI 1/2/3 are all 4K 60Hz.
- 1080p / 2K — 120Hz via DLG. The panel really is running at 120Hz, not interpolating, but it pays for that in vertical resolution.
- Motion Xcelerator — the official spec says simply Motion Xcelerator, with no number after it (compare the QN70F and M80H, both of which read Motion Xcelerator 144Hz).
Sound: 20W built in, Q-Symphony to grow
Official spec: Sound Output (RMS) 20 W, Speaker Type 2ch, Object Tracking Sound Lite, Q-Symphony, Adaptive Sound+, Active Voice Amplifier, AI Sound Controller, Dolby 5.1 Decoder (MS12 2ch).
Dolby Atmos is not listed on the official spec sheet, so we will not claim it. 20W is fine for news and drama; for films with any sense of envelopment you will want a soundbar. Add one and Q-Symphony lets the TV speakers play alongside the bar rather than switching off — the HW-Q990H (HK$7,980) is Samsung's 2026 flagship, and the full range is in soundbars.

On Vision AI Companion: Samsung's official spec sheet reads "Yes (AU, VN, TH, MM, KH, LA, PH, SG)" — Hong Kong is not on that regional list. This is an international-version set, and Samsung does not publicly state whether the feature runs on a unit switched on in Hong Kong, so we will not state it for them. Design and installation
Air Slim design, 3 bezel-less sides, black front, Aero Linear stand in Titan Gray. Official dimensions:
| Item | Official figure |
|---|---|
| Set without stand | 1450.9 × 831.8 × 25.7 mm |
| Set with stand | 1450.9 × 890.0 × 270.4 mm |
| Stand, standard width | 1049.7 × 270.4 mm |
| Stand, narrow position | 308.3 × 270.4 mm |
| Packaged size | 1597 × 933 × 148 mm |
| Set weight without stand | 20.8 kg |
| Set weight with stand | 21.3 kg |
| Packaged weight | 27.3 kg |
| Wall mount (VESA) | 400 × 300 mm |
| Power | AC 220–240V 50/60Hz, max 220W |
The two stand positions are worth noting: the standard position needs a 1049.7mm wide unit, while the narrow position pulls the feet in to 308.3mm. Plenty of Hong Kong TV units are under a metre wide, so measure the top of yours before ordering. For wall mounting it is VESA 400 × 300, with official support for the Slim Fit bracket and the Y22 full-motion mount.
At 20.8kg one person can manage it, but wall versus stand, whether the frame needs unpacking, and what time it goes up are all easier settled before you order — WhatsApp us and we will arrange it.

Frequently asked questions
Does the QN70H support 4K 120Hz?
No. Samsung's official spec states a 50Hz native panel with HDMI high frame rate capped at 4K 60Hz. The 120Hz figure applies at 1080p/2K through DLG, which trades vertical resolution for refresh rate. If you need 4K 144Hz, look at the QN70F or the M80H.
Does the QN70H have VRR or FreeSync?
Samsung's official spec sheet lists neither VRR nor FreeSync. The QN70F in the same range lists FreeSync Premium Pro and VRR, and the M80H lists FreeSync Premium and VRR, but the QN70H has neither.
Does the QN70H support Dolby Atmos?
Dolby Atmos is not listed on Samsung's official spec. What is listed is a Dolby 5.1 Decoder (MS12 2ch), a 20W 2ch speaker system, OTS Lite and Q-Symphony. For Atmos you would pair it with a soundbar.
How many HDMI ports does the QN70H have?
Three, one of which supports eARC. All three run at 4K 60Hz. There are also 2 × USB-A, 1 × LAN and 1 × optical digital audio output.
Can the QN70H use Alexa or Google Assistant?
No. Samsung's official spec lists Bixby only, plus Far-Field Voice Interaction so you can talk to the set without picking up the remote. Neither Alexa nor Google Assistant is listed.
