The most important point first: Amazon has no official channel in Hong Kong, so this is a parallel import and the interface language is English. Amazon's own product page identifies it as Kindle Colorsoft (1st Generation) – 2025 release, with a 7-inch Colorsoft display running 300 ppi in black and white, 150 ppi in colour, 16-level greyscale, and 16 GB of on-device storage.

Amazon describes the panel as "Amazon's 7" Colorsoft display technology with built-in light, 300 ppi B&W, 150 ppi color, optimized font technology, 16-level gray scale". Amazon also states directly that because of the added colour filter layer that creates the easy-on-the-eyes colour reading experience, you may notice the texture or brightness of the Colorsoft display looks different from the Kindle Paperwhite display. That is the manufacturer's own wording, quoted as-is.
Battery and charging
A single charge lasts up to eight weeks, measured on half an hour of reading per day with wireless off and the light setting at 13. It charges fully in under 2.5 hours with a 9W USB power adapter. Streaming Audible audiobooks over Bluetooth reduces battery life.
Waterproofing and size
The rating is IPX8, tested to withstand immersion in 2 metres of fresh water for 60 minutes. The body measures 127.6 × 176.7 × 7.8 mm (5 × 7 × 0.3 inches) and weighs 215 g (7.6 oz). Amazon lists Black as the only colour.
Wireless and file formats
Wi-Fi covers 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz networks with WEP, WPA, WPA2, WPA3 and OWE security. Natively supported formats are Kindle Format 8 (AZW3), Kindle (AZW), TXT, PDF, unprotected MOBI and PRC, plus Audible (AAX); PDF, DOCX, DOC, HTML, EPUB, TXT, RTF, JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP are supported through conversion. Accessibility includes the VoiceView screen reader, which Amazon notes is available in English only.

FAQ
Q: Can it read Chinese books? A: The device natively supports AZW3, AZW, TXT, PDF, unprotected MOBI and PRC, and supports EPUB, DOCX and others through conversion. But with no official Amazon channel in Hong Kong, Chinese ebook support depends on your own sources and how you load files onto the device. That part is not something we can guarantee for you.
Q: What language is the interface? A: English. Amazon's product page does not publish a full list of interface languages, so we will not claim more than the manufacturer states.
