1. About this policy

This policy explains how Cheung Hoi International Development Limited (Business Registration No. 71779959), trading as Elechid (音立), collects, uses, keeps and protects your personal data. We handle personal data in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong.

This policy applies to elechid.com and to the services we provide through it. It does not apply to third-party websites you reach through links on our site — please check their own privacy policies.

2. What personal data we collect

  • Contact and order details — name, email address, phone number, delivery address, billing address, order history
  • Payment information — processed by our payment providers. We do not store full card numbers on our systems
  • Service and installation details — building type, floor, wall type and similar information needed to plan delivery and installation
  • Enquiries and correspondence — messages you send through our contact form, WhatsApp, phone or email, including photos or videos you provide in support of a claim
  • Website usage data — IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, time of visit and click activity, collected automatically

Providing your data is voluntary, but if you do not provide the details we need to fulfil an order, we may not be able to process it.

3. How we use your personal data

  • Processing and fulfilling your orders, including delivery, installation and collection arrangements
  • Providing warranty service, handling returns, exchanges and refunds
  • Answering your enquiries and providing customer support
  • Verifying payment and preventing fraud
  • Improving our website, products and services, including statistical analysis
  • Meeting our legal, tax and accounting obligations
  • Direct marketing, where you have consented — see section 5

We will not use your personal data for a new purpose unrelated to the above without your consent.

4. Who we may share your data with

We may transfer your personal data to the following classes of recipients, for the purposes set out above:

  • Delivery and logistics providers, including our own delivery team and courier partners
  • Installation and repair technicians engaged by us
  • Marketing, messaging and analytics service providers
  • Customer review platforms
  • Professional advisers, including accountants and lawyers
  • Regulators, law enforcement or other authorities, where required by law

Where we engage a service provider to handle personal data on our behalf, we require them by contract to protect it, to use it only for the agreed purpose, and not to keep it longer than necessary.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data.

5. Direct marketing

We would like to use your personal data to send you marketing about our products and services. Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, we may only do so with your consent.

  • What data we use: your name, email address and phone number
  • What we send: information about new products, promotions, offers and events relating to televisions, audio equipment, smart home products and related services
  • How we send it: email and SMS
  • Your consent: we only send marketing to customers who have actively opted in — for example by ticking the subscription box. We do not pre-tick it for you

You may withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge. To stop receiving marketing messages, use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, reply to any marketing SMS as instructed in that message, or email us at info@ch-int-dev.com. We will act on your request without charge.

We do not provide your personal data to any third party for that third party's own direct marketing, whether for gain or otherwise.

If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record of your request so that we can make sure you are not contacted again.

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies on this website for the following purposes:

  • Essential — keeping your shopping cart, processing checkout, maintaining your logged-in session and site security. The site cannot work properly without these
  • Analytics — understanding how visitors use the site so we can improve it
  • Advertising — measuring the effectiveness of our advertising and showing relevant ads on third-party platforms
  • Customer service and reviews — live chat and product review functionality

You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block cookies, parts of the website — including checkout — may not function correctly.

7. Data security

We take practicable steps to protect your personal data against unauthorised or accidental access, processing, erasure, loss or use. These include encrypted connections, access controls limiting personal data to authorised staff, and confidentiality obligations on staff and service providers.

No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we review our safeguards and act promptly on any issue we identify.

8. How long we keep your data

  • Order and transaction records: 7 years after the order is completed, in line with Hong Kong tax and accounting record-keeping requirements
  • Warranty records: for the duration of the warranty period and a reasonable period afterwards
  • Marketing data: until you withdraw your consent
  • Enquiries not resulting in an order: only as long as needed to deal with the enquiry

We erase personal data once it is no longer required for the purpose it was collected for, unless we are required by law to keep it.

9. Your rights — access and correction

Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance you have the right to:

  • Ask whether we hold personal data about you
  • Request a copy of that data
  • Request correction of any data that is inaccurate
  • Withdraw your consent to direct marketing at any time

We will respond within 40 days as required by the Ordinance. A reasonable fee may be charged for complying with a data access request, as permitted by the Ordinance.

Our website contains links to third-party websites. This policy does not apply to them, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their own policies before providing personal data.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last updated.
