43-Inch Smart TVs: from HK$1,990 — 8 4K models in stock

43 inches is the size Hong Kong buys most for bedrooms, studies, small living rooms and offices — a clear step up from 32 inches, without the wall-filling presence of a 55. Our 43-inch stock runs from HK$1,990 to HK$3,980 across Skyworth, Hisense, TCL and Samsung.

But there is one thing worth settling before you compare anything else.

⚠ "4K" tells you nothing on this page

Every 43-inch model on this page is 4K (3840×2160). (The collection's one exception is the 40-inch Q5F — Full HD, noted under the table.) So "it has 4K" is not a buying criterion here — it is the baseline.

Three things actually separate these sets:

• HDR format — Dolby Vision or HDR10+
• Smart platform — Google TV or Samsung Tizen
• Refresh rate — the one that matters if you game

Difference 1: Dolby Vision or HDR10+

This is the biggest difference in the collection, the least talked about, and the one that actually changes what you see.

• Dolby Vision: Skyworth SUE7900, Skyworth Q8200G, Skyworth SUE8800, Hisense Q6N
• No Dolby Vision: every Samsung — no Samsung TV supports Dolby Vision; they use HDR10+

Both formats do the same job: they adjust brightness information scene by scene (dynamic metadata), so dark scenes keep their detail and highlights do not clip. Plain HDR10, by contrast, uses one fixed set of values for the whole film. Both are better than plain HDR10, and every set here supports at least one of them.

⚠ Now the part a lot of published copy still gets wrong: "Dolby Vision has more content than HDR10+" is no longer true in 2026.

Per HDR10+'s own published list, the streaming services now supporting HDR10+ include Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Apple TV+, YouTube, Disney+, Hulu and Paramount+ — essentially every major service. Dolby Vision coverage is comparably broad.

So for anyone who only streams, this difference is smaller than you would expect. Two situations where it still genuinely matters:

• You buy 4K Blu-ray discs — Dolby Vision is far more common on disc
• You use an Apple TV 4K box — it outputs Dolby Vision

⚠ In buying terms: everything from HK$1,990 to HK$2,390 runs Dolby Vision (bar the to-be-confirmed TCL 43V6C), and every Samsung from HK$2,780 up runs HDR10+. If you only stream, do not rule out either group on this basis; if you own discs or use an Apple TV 4K, pick from the Dolby Vision group.

Difference 2: Google TV or Samsung Tizen

• Google TV (Skyworth ×3, Hisense, TCL) — the widest app selection via Google Play, Chromecast built in, Google voice search. Smoothest if you cast from an Android phone
• Samsung Tizen (all Samsung) — the fastest, cleanest interface, Samsung TV Plus free channels, SmartThings for smart home, AirPlay support. Better fit if you use an iPhone or already own Samsung devices

Netflix, Disney+, YouTube and Prime Video are on both platforms. What differs is store depth, update cadence and how you cast.

⚠ Difference 3: none of these 43-inch sets is 120Hz

If you are buying this to run a PS5 or Xbox Series X at 120fps, 43 inches is not the size to look at.

Checked against every product page that publishes a refresh rate:

• Samsung QEF1 — 50/60Hz, ALLM yes, VRR not officially listed
• Samsung Q7F 43 (2025) — native 50Hz, Motion Xcelerator, ALLM yes
• Samsung M70H/M75H 43 (2026, Mini LED) — native 50Hz; Samsung lists DLG 120Hz only from 55 inches up, not at 43
• TCL 43V6C — 60Hz

60Hz is perfectly playable — most console games are capped at 60fps anyway, and these sets have Auto Low Latency Mode, so they switch to game mode automatically when a console is connected. But 120fps and VRR are not available at 43 inches.

New for 2026: Mini LED reaches 43 inches

Mini LED backlighting used to start at 55 inches; the 43-inch tier has always been plain LED and QLED territory. Samsung's 2026 M series brings it down to this size: the M70H/M75H 43" (HK$3,980) pairs a Mini LED backlight with Micro Dimming Supreme local dimming — the only set on this page with zone dimming at all. The usual defusing applies: it is a native 50Hz panel (Samsung lists DLG 120Hz only from 55 inches up, not at 43) and there is no Dolby Vision — you buy it for contrast and dark-scene control, not for gaming. If you are hunting a 43-inch 4K TV recommendation with picture quality first, this is the 2026 answer.

How far away should you sit?

The sensible viewing distance for 43 inches is about 1.1 to 1.7 m (picture width around 95 cm, converted from the usual viewing-angle guidance).

⚠ If you sit 2 m or further, 43 inches is on the small side — not only less immersive, but the 4K you are paying for stops doing anything, because at that distance 4K and 1080p detail are effectively indistinguishable.

• 1.1–1.7 m → 43 inch is right
• 1.6–2.1 m → look at 50 inch
• 1.7–2.3 m → look at 55 inch
• 1.1–1.5 m and very tight on space → 32 inch may already be enough

Where a 43-inch TV works best

• Bedroom — the most common use; bed to wall is usually 1.5–2 m, which suits 43 inches
• Small living room — up to about 2 m deep; beyond that, go to 50
• Study or work room — doubles as a large screen, and you sit close enough for the 4K to count
• Children's room — not overbearing in size, and not painful in price
• Rentals and second sets — light, easy to move, easy to wall-mount
• Office or meeting room — a 43-inch 4K set costs far less than a projector setup

One design TV: The Serif

Samsung The Serif LS01D 43" (HK$6,980, currently out of stock) is a different proposition from the sets above — it sells on its shape, not its specification.

The chassis is built as an "I"-profile picture frame, finished on all four sides, so it can stand on the floor on its matching legs or sit on a low cabinet without needing a wall or a corner. The panel is QLED and the platform is Tizen.

If you are paying the extra purely for picture quality, this is not the best value here — the same money buys a much larger screen. But if the TV has to stand in the middle of a room and work with the furniture, very little else on the market has this form.

A soundbar usually does more than a panel upgrade

A 43-inch chassis is thin and the built-in speakers are typically around 20W, so dialogue clarity is the weakest link.

An entry-level soundbar (from HK$680) will usually improve what you actually notice more than moving from the HK$1,990 set to the HK$2,390 one. If you mostly watch drama and news, consider it first.

Which 43-inch is the best value?

Depends what you mean by value. Cheapest with Dolby Vision: Skyworth SUE7900 (HK$1,990). Cheapest with a QLED panel: Skyworth Q8200G (HK$2,090).

If you prefer the Samsung interface and SmartThings, the cheapest way in is the Q7F 43" (HK$2,780, 2025); for the only Mini LED at this size, the M70H/M75H (HK$3,980, 2026).

Is a 43-inch smart TV good for gaming?

For casual play and 60fps console games, yes — these sets have Auto Low Latency Mode.

Do Samsung TVs have Dolby Vision?

No. No Samsung TV supports Dolby Vision; they use HDR10+. In this collection the Dolby Vision sets are the four from Skyworth and Hisense.

That is not a reason to rule out Samsung. Both formats do the same job, and as of 2026 every major streaming service — Prime Video, Netflix, Apple TV+, YouTube, Disney+, Hulu, Paramount+ — supports HDR10+. Only two situations really call for Dolby Vision: you buy 4K Blu-ray discs, or you use an Apple TV 4K box.

What is the best viewing distance for a 43-inch TV?

About 1.1 to 1.7 m. If your seat is 2 m or further back, consider 50 inch or 55 inch — past that distance the detail advantage of 4K over 1080p disappears.

Is a 43-inch QLED worth it?

QLED (quantum dot) mainly widens colour volume, which shows most in a bright room and on vividly coloured content.

The cheapest QLED here is the Skyworth Q8200G (HK$2,090) — HK$100 more than the cheapest set, and it has Dolby Vision as well. Samsung's 43-inch QLEDs start at HK$2,780 (Q7F, QEF1).

Can I use a 43-inch TV as an office or meeting-room screen?

Yes, and it costs far less than a projector. But note these are consumer TVs — if you need all-day operation, a commercial warranty, or several units daisy-chained, ask us about commercial models rather than buying a home set.
