A 98-inch TV is an extra-large option for a spacious living room, dedicated media room or shared viewing area. This category also includes 100-inch models. At this scale, assess the viewing position, delivery route and installation together before narrowing the choice by picture technology.
How much space does the screen need?
A theoretical 16:9 98-inch visible screen is approximately 217 cm wide and 122 cm high; at 100 inches, it is approximately 221 cm wide and 125 cm high. These exclude the bezel, stand and carton. The two sizes differ by about 4 cm in visible width, but actual chassis dimensions and mounting requirements can differ further.
A calculated 30–40° horizontal viewing-angle example gives about 3.0–4.0 m for 98 inches. Adjust for comfort, subtitles and the desired picture scale; it is not a mandatory distance. Mark the outline and compare the 83–86-inch category if it leaves too little room.
For gaming, verify native refresh, actual HDMI input modes and VRR for the exact regional version. Apps and features depend on the model, region and subscriptions. Shared brand naming alone does not guarantee combined-speaker functions.
Check delivery access before ordering
Obtain carton dimensions and permitted handling orientation. Measure lift doors and cabin space, hallway turns, stairs and entrances. Confirm the route with the delivery team. An installer must assess wall construction, fixings, bracket capacity and exact-model mounting support; a large diagonal alone does not establish suitability.
A card's “from” price may belong to another size. Select 98 or 100 inch explicitly and confirm price and availability. Eligible international-version TVs receive three years of free on-site inspection and repair labour; parts are quoted separately, subject to the full policy.
