Size is where most people start, and it's usually the right instinct: the difference between 55 and 65 inch matters more day to day than the difference between two panel technologies at the same size.

How Far Will You Be Sitting?
This is the question that should decide your size, and it's the one most people skip. Two industry standards give different answers — THX's 40° guideline puts the picture across your whole field of view, SMPTE's 30° is a more relaxed, television-like framing. Both are legitimate; anywhere between them works.

Measure from where you actually sit, not from the opposite wall. At 4K you can sit at the near end of the range without seeing pixels — the old rules of thumb were written for 1080p.
What Else to Compare
Beyond size and panel type, four things change how a television feels to live with:
Refresh rate. 60Hz is fine for broadcast and streaming. 120Hz matters for console gaming and fast sport. 144Hz only helps if you're gaming on a PC.
Gaming inputs. HDMI 2.1, VRR and ALLM together are what make a console feel responsive. Input lag matters more than resolution.
Smart platform. Samsung uses Tizen, LG uses webOS, TCL, Toshiba and Skyworth mostly use Google TV, and Hisense splits between VIDAA and Google TV. All of them run the major streaming apps; the difference is how the remote and interface feel.
It depends on what you want. Samsung has the widest range and the strongest Mini LED line-up. LG is the choice for OLED. TCL and Hisense give you the most brightness and refresh rate per dollar. Sony is the licensed pick when picture processing comes first. Skyworth and Toshiba cover the budget end.
What size TV suits a Hong Kong living room?
55 and 65 inch cover most flats — see the distance table above and measure from your sofa. 75 inch and up needs a genuinely large room, and at that point you should also check the lift and the front door, because the carton becomes the real constraint.
OLED, QLED or Mini LED?
OLED for the deepest blacks in a dark room; QLED for brightness on a budget; Mini LED when you want both and your room has real daylight. Full comparison in our technology guide.
What does "international version" mean?
Our Samsung and LG sets are international versions: original manufacturer stock with the same interface and features as local-market models — the differences are in the distribution channel and bundled accessories — and each carries a 10-day exchange plus our 3-year on-site warranty. Sony, TCL, Skyworth, Hisense and Toshiba are Hong Kong licensed sets on brand warranty, tuned for HK broadcast reception. Do you deliver and install?
Yes, within Hong Kong. For anything 75 inch and above we'd recommend professional installation — send us a photo of the wall on WhatsApp (+852 9847 9793) and we'll tell you what's needed.
Can I see a TV in person before buying?
Yes. Our showroom is at Room 403, Block A, Chung Mei Centre, 15 Hing Yip Street, Kwun Tong, open 11:00–19:00. Not every model is on display, so WhatsApp us first to confirm.
Sound, and Further Reading
Most televisions are thinner than the speakers they'd need. If the picture is going to be the centrepiece of the room, budget for a soundbar alongside it — it changes the experience more than the next model up would.
