Mini RGB TVs: understand the implementation before comparing names

Mini RGB is a product-family label, not a universal specification shared by every brand. LG MRGB85 is an LCD television family using the company’s Tandem LED colour technology. LG expressly says its Mini RGB design does not include R-chip LEDs or independently driven chips. It should not be described as the same independently controlled RGB-LED structure used by its Micro RGB line.

LG’s Hong Kong 75MRGB85BCA description is a useful reference for that distinction, not proof that an imported SKU or every size has identical ports, processor, refresh rate and accessories.

What matters for an MRGB85 comparison

• Screen size and room: compare the listed 65-, 75- and 86-inch options using their own chassis and stand measurements, not only the diagonal.
• Colour claims: check which model, colour space and test method a certification covers. A gamut certification does not itself prove calibration accuracy or film-picture quality.
• Gaming and sound: confirm 4K input rates, VRR and the count of HDMI ports remaining after an eARC Sound Bar is connected. Do not infer these from the Mini RGB name.
• Source market: compare the complete regional model suffix and tuner support. Overseas launch pages are not a substitute for the specification of the supplied unit.

Is Mini RGB an OLED or MicroLED display?

No. The MRGB85 discussed here is an LCD design with a backlight. OLED and self-emissive MicroLED use a different display structure.

Version, warranty and installation

Check the exact model and regional version before ordering: tuner support, apps and accessories can differ. Eligible international-version TVs receive Elechid’s three-year on-site inspection and repair labour cover; replacement parts are quoted separately.
