Not every room needs a Mini LED panel. The V6C is TCL's straightforward 65-inch 4K set — a direct-lit LED backlight behind an HVA panel, Google TV on top, and very little else in the way of complication. It is the model to look at when the priority is a large, current-generation smart TV for a bedroom, a study or a second living room rather than a home cinema centrepiece.
Key features
HVA panel with a direct LED backlight
TCL specifies an HVA panel here, which it rates at roughly three times the contrast of a comparable IPS-type panel while holding a viewing angle beyond 178 degrees. The backlight is direct LED — the LEDs sit behind the panel rather than around the edge — which gives more even illumination across a 65-inch screen than edge lighting typically manages. There is no local dimming at this tier, so deep black levels in mixed scenes are not this set's strength.
60Hz native panel with MEMC motion compensation
The panel refreshes at 60Hz natively. TCL layers MEMC motion compensation over it to smooth fast pans in sport and action content, but the panel itself accepts and displays 60 frames per second. We state this plainly because motion-processing figures are often presented in a way that reads like a refresh rate specification, and they are not the same thing.
Google TV with the AiPQ processor
The V6C runs Google TV on 16GB of storage with 2GB of RAM, which covers the Hong Kong streaming apps, Chromecast built in, Google Assistant voice control and the unified Google TV recommendation screen. Picture processing is handled by TCL's AiPQ processor, which works at pixel level on contrast, colour and clarity. HDR support is HDR10, and audio decoding is Dolby Audio.
Three HDMI 2.1 inputs and a Hong Kong tuner
Connectivity runs to three HDMI 2.1 inputs, Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 5. The built-in digital terrestrial tuner handles Hong Kong free-to-air broadcasts directly from an aerial. At 73mm deep without the stand, the cabinet is slim enough for a standard wall bracket without standing noticeably proud of the wall.

Who it's for
- Anyone who wants a large, current 65-inch smart TV for a bedroom, study or second lounge without paying for Mini LED.
- Households watching mostly free-to-air broadcast, YouTube and standard streaming, where HDR10 and a 60Hz panel cover the content.
- Buyers who want Google TV built in rather than running everything through a streaming stick.
- Not for anyone building a home cinema. Without local dimming and with HDR10 only, dark-room film watching and HDR highlight punch are well below what a Mini LED set delivers. Step up to the P8L or A400M for that.
Warranty and delivery
This is Hong Kong licensed stock (行貨) carrying the manufacturer's Hong Kong warranty. The exact warranty term is stated on the warranty card supplied with the set. Viewing is available by appointment at our Kwun Tong showroom.
Delivery with tabletop installation is HK$300, or delivery with wall mounting is HK$600 with the bracket included. Collection at the Kwun Tong shop is free. Walk-up buildings without a lift add HK$100 per floor, with no cap. Discovery Bay adds HK$500. Cheung Chau and Lamma Island orders are delivered to the Central pier for self-collection, without installation. Installation is a paid service and is not included in the price of the set.
Frequently asked questions
Does the V6C receive Hong Kong free-to-air channels on its own?
Yes. A built-in digital terrestrial tuner is fitted, so an aerial connection gives you the local free-to-air channels without a separate decoder box.
How does the V6C differ from the P7L?
The V6C uses a standard direct LED backlight; the P7L adds a quantum-dot QLED colour layer for a wider colour gamut and a rated 400 cd/m² brightness. Both are 60Hz native and both run Google TV, so the difference is colour and brightness rather than motion handling.
Can I wall mount it, and is a bracket included?
Yes. Our wall-mounting delivery option is HK$600 and includes the bracket. If you prefer to arrange your own installer, delivery with tabletop setup is HK$300, or collection from the Kwun Tong shop is free.
