The Kodak FLIK HD9 brings an Android TV 10 interface, Chromecast and a Google Assistant voice remote to a native 1080p LED projector. Its carrying handle makes it easy to move between a bedroom and living room, while the sealed optical engine limits dust entering the optical assembly. At a rated 200 ANSI lumens, it is best planned as an evening projector with curtains closed.

Choose a comfortable size and placement

Elechid and the Hong Kong distributor advertise pictures up to 120 inches. A smaller picture is a practical choice where you cannot fully darken the room, because it concentrates the available light. Kodak's global specifications recommend 40–80-inch viewing. Treat the local 120-inch figure as the advertised size limit, rather than assuming cinema-like brightness throughout that range.

Kodak publishes a 1.22:1 throw ratio. Using a 16:9 picture, calculated lens-to-screen distances are approximately 2.16 m for 80 inches, 2.70 m for 100 inches and 3.24 m for 120 inches. These are ratio-based estimates, not measurements of the supplied unit. Leave room for cables and airflow, and consult our throw distance and placement guide before arranging the furniture.

Streaming without confusing input and display resolution

Kodak and Basco list Android TV 10, Google Play, Netflix and other streaming services, plus Chromecast and Google Assistant. Confirm your required app, Hong Kong account and firmware on the supplied version before purchase; listings do not establish every service's current certification or playback quality. Chromecast shares compatible content, while protected programmes may restrict mirroring. Our phone casting black-screen troubleshooting guide explains why.

The HDMI port accepts an external player, laptop or console. Kodak lists 4K at 30 Hz compatibility, but the projected image remains native 1920 × 1080. A higher-resolution input does not add native pixels. USB provides another playback path for compatible files, and Bluetooth or the 3.5 mm audio output can connect compatible sound equipment.

Manual focus, automatic keystone and four-point correction help align the picture. Start with the lens square to the screen to minimise digital correction and its loss of usable detail. The sealed optical engine does not mean the whole projector is weatherproof or maintenance-free; keep external vents clear and use a dry location.

Questions about the HD9

Can I use it outdoors on battery?

It needs plug-in power. Outdoor use also needs a dry, suitable setup and controlled light; the carrying handle does not imply a built-in battery or weather resistance.

Do I need a special screen?

A smooth white surface is a starting point. Check our white wall, ALR and CLR screen guide for material and lighting tradeoffs.
