With a gaming keyboard, the switch matters far more than the lighting: the same shape with a different switch can feel completely different in games and in typing. Every ASUS ROG and TUF Gaming keyboard here is Hong Kong licensed stock, from entry-level full-size boards to magnetic keyboards with adjustable actuation, plus collectable ROG keycaps. The sections below narrow the choice by switch, size and connection.

Three types of switch

Magnetic (HFX): set your own actuation point

The ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE (HFX V2 and V2X versions), Azoth 96 HE Lite and Falchion Ace HFX use magnetic switches whose actuation point can be set from 0.1 mm. All four support Rapid Trigger, which resets a key the moment you lift it, for faster strafing in shooters.

Optical-mechanical: fast and splash-resistant

The TUF Gaming K3 Gen II (including the Hatsune Miku Edition) uses optical-mechanical switches in Red (linear) or Blue (clicky), and the board is rated IP57 against dust and water (fresh water only).

Mechanical: hot-swappable for modding

The ROG Azoth Extreme Edition 20, Strix Morph 96 Wireless, Strix Scope II 96 Wireless and Scope II X use ROG NX switches, Snow (linear) or Storm (clicky), and are hot-swappable. The TUF Gaming K3 comes in Blue or Red. The TUF Gaming K1 uses TUF Gaming keys that ASUS does not describe as mechanical, with a quieter feel.

Size: 65%, 75%, 96% or full-size

65%: Falchion Ace HFX, the most compact, leaving the most room for your mouse.
75%: Falchion Ace 75 HE and Azoth Extreme Edition 20, keeping the F-row for gaming and daily use.
96%: Azoth 96 HE Lite, Strix Morph 96 Wireless, Scope II 96 Wireless and TUF K3 Gen II, with a number pad in a shorter body.
Full-size: Scope II X, TUF K3 and TUF K1, with every key, for number entry and office work.

Wired or tri-mode wireless

The Azoth Extreme Edition 20, Azoth 96 HE Lite, Strix Morph 96 Wireless and Scope II 96 Wireless connect by 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth or USB, so one keyboard can switch between a computer and a tablet. The Falchion Ace 75 HE, Falchion Ace HFX, Scope II X and TUF models are wired, so there is nothing to charge. For polling rate, the Azoth Extreme Edition 20 (with its included polling-rate booster), Azoth 96 HE Lite, Falchion Ace 75 HE and Falchion Ace HFX reach 8000 Hz; the Strix and TUF models run at 1000 Hz.

Collectable keycaps

The ROG Keycap Mystery Box Edition 20 contains 6 random artisan keycaps with no duplicates in a box, and may include the special edition; they fit cross-stem switches. The ROG RX keycap set EVA-02 Edition has 127 keycaps and only fits keyboards with ROG RX optical switches, so check your switch type before buying.

Hong Kong licensed warranty and delivery

Everything in this collection is Hong Kong licensed stock, covered by the local distributor's warranty; the period is shown on the warranty card in the box. All items are brand new. Stock can be viewed at our Kwun Tong showroom by appointment (viewing only). Delivery is by SF Express, freight collect; self-collection at our Kwun Tong shop is free (11:00–19:00). FAQ

What is the difference between magnetic and mechanical switches?

Mechanical switches trigger through metal contacts at a fixed point; magnetic switches sense the key by magnetism, so you can set the actuation point, and with Rapid Trigger they respond faster, which is why shooter players often choose them.

Do they work with a Mac?

ASUS lists macOS support for the Azoth Extreme Edition 20, Azoth 96 HE Lite and Strix Morph 96 Wireless. For other models, check the supported systems on the product page or ask us.
