Crystal Processor 4K

Handles upscaling and picture optimisation. Most of what plays in Hong Kong is broadcast HD or compressed streaming rather than native 4K — so the upscaler shapes what you actually see more often than the panel spec does.

HDR10+, Mega Contrast and PurColor

HDR10+ adjusts brightness scene by scene so highlights keep detail and shadows don't crush; Mega Contrast and Contrast Enhancer widen the gap between light and dark; PurColor broadens the colour range for more natural skin tones and landscapes.

Gaming: ALLM, VRR and HGiG All Present

Plug in a console and it drops into low-latency mode automatically (ALLM). The official spec also lists VRR — when a game's frame rate fluctuates (dropping from 60 to 45fps, say), VRR keeps the picture from tearing or stuttering, and it is not a given on entry 4K sets. HGiG keeps HDR game tone mapping accurate.

What is the refresh rate, and is it good for gaming?

A 50/60Hz panel with Auto Game Mode (ALLM), VRR and HGiG — smooth for casual play. It is not a 120Hz set, so for PS5/Xbox 120Hz modes see our gaming TVs.

Does it support Dolby Vision?

No — Samsung runs HDR10+ across its range. If Dolby Vision matters, the Skyworth Q8200G (HK$2,690) has it at this price.

What is Q-Symphony?
