Samsung QN80F 55-Inch Neo QLED 4K Smart TV (2025)

The QN80F 55 is the middle rung of our 55-inch Neo QLED ladder: over the QN70F it adds 30W four-channel audio with Dolby Atmos and steps the dimming up to Quantum Matrix Technology Core. All four HDMI ports accept 4K 144Hz — its gaming spec sits in the same class as sets a tier dearer.

Price and stock

Price: HK$5,780 (the buy button is authoritative) · In stock

International version, not local licensed stock; specifications follow the Samsung Thailand official page (QA55QN80FAKXXT), with the warranty provided by us (details at the end).

Three things to know before buying

  1. Refresh rate: the Thai official sheet says 100Hz (Up to 144Hz), with Motion Xcelerator 144Hz. US sheets label it 120Hz — two market conventions, not two different panels. The row that matters is HDMI, officially "4K 144Hz (for HDMI 1/2/3/4)" — all four ports accept 4K 144Hz, so any port suits a PS5, Xbox or PC.
  2. Audio is the real gap over the QN70F: 30W four-channel with Dolby Atmos. The QN70F runs 20W two-channel with no Atmos — that HK$800 mostly buys the sound, plus the dimming step from Quantum Matrix Slim to Core.
  3. HK$200 more buys the QN85F — 40W 2.2 channels and Quantum Mini LED Pro with Supreme UHD Dimming, one further tier of light control. Whether that HK$200 is worth it depends on how much black-level matters to you. We say it plainly; you choose.

Hong Kong free-to-air reception: Hong Kong licensed sets list DTMB on their spec sheets while international versions list DVB-T2 — they differ. We have tested reception of local free-to-air channels in Hong Kong ourselves, and our technicians tune the channels during installation; but if your building has weak aerial signal, or aerial TV is your main use, WhatsApp us before ordering. For more depth, see our TV signal and antenna guide.

Delivery and installation

At 55 inches, delivery with stand installation is HK$300 and wall mounting HK$600 (bracket included, nothing added on the day). Walk-ups add HK$100 per floor. At 16.4 kg, 55 inches is the upper limit of a sensible DIY mount (concrete or brick walls only; plasterboard false walls need assessment first) — if in doubt, leave it to us. Showroom collection in Kwun Tong is free; the showroom holds stock for collection only, with no demo units and no side-by-side viewing. Full terms on the delivery and installation page.

The ladder: four choices within HK$1,500

Save HK$800: the Samsung QN70F 55-inch (HK$4,980, in stock) — identical four-port 4K144 gaming spec, but 20W two-channel audio with no Atmos and a lower dimming tier. Excellent value if a soundbar will do the audio anyway.

Spend HK$200 more: the Samsung QN85F 55-inch (HK$5,980, in stock) — 40W 2.2 channels and Quantum Mini LED Pro with Supreme UHD Dimming, one tier up in light control.

Spend HK$700 more, and cross into OLED: the Samsung S85F 55-inch OLED (HK$6,480) — where dark-room black level is a different world. Out of stock on publication day; leave the model with us on WhatsApp to hear when it lands.

We compare the three Neo QLEDs line by line in our own guide: Samsung QN70F vs QN80F vs QN85F Hong Kong buying guide. The QN80F also comes in 65, 75, 85 and 100 inches (the 65-inch is here); every 55-inch model is in the 55-inch collection.

Warranty

International version, not local licensed stock, with the warranty provided by us: a 10-day exchange counted from installation day (verified by our technician; screen faults are swapped on unboxing), plus a 3-year on-site warranty — on-site inspection and repair labour are free for three years, and any parts replacement is quoted first, with work proceeding only after you confirm. Full terms on the international-version warranty policy.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a 120Hz TV?

The Thai official sheet says 100Hz (Up to 144Hz) with Motion Xcelerator 144Hz — US sheets label the same panel 120Hz, two market conventions. For gaming, read the HDMI row: all four ports officially accept 4K 144Hz, so a PS5 runs 4K120 without issue.

What does the HK$800 over the QN70F buy?

Two things: audio rises from 20W two-channel to 30W four-channel with Dolby Atmos, and dimming steps up from Quantum Matrix Slim to Core. The gaming spec is identical on both (four ports, 4K144).

Should I pay HK$200 more for the QN85F?

The QN85F runs 40W 2.2-channel audio and Quantum Mini LED Pro with Supreme UHD Dimming — one tier up in both sound and light control. For frequent dark-room film nights the HK$200 is easy to justify; for everyday living-room use the QN80F is plenty.

Will it receive Hong Kong free-to-air channels?

Hong Kong licensed sets list DTMB while international versions list DVB-T2 — they differ. We have tested reception of local free channels in Hong Kong ourselves, and our technicians tune the channels during installation; if your building has weak aerial signal, WhatsApp us before ordering.

Does the remote really need no batteries?

Correct — the official sheet lists the TM2360E SolarCell remote, which charges from indoor light. No batteries to buy.
