The ROG Strix Morph 96 Wireless is a 96% keyboard built for people who like to open up and customise their board. The top cover comes off from above with the included Torx wrench, the ROG NX V2 switches are hot-swappable, and the south-facing PCB works with most keycap profiles, including Cherry. Inside, a translucent polycarbonate plate, silicone foam and a gasket mount soften the typing feel, while light bars on both sides add to the RGB. It connects over 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth (up to three devices) or USB, supports macOS, and keeps a full number pad in a compact body.

Key features

Top-down modular build

Components come out straight from the top, so there is no need to flip the keyboard to open it. The stack is a CNC-machined aluminium top cover, ROG NX V2 switches, a polycarbonate positioning plate, silicone foam, a south-facing PCB, a silicone pad and the bottom case.

ROG NX Snow V2 and Storm V2

Snow V2 is a factory-lubed linear switch with 1.8 mm actuation, 40 gf initial and 53 gf total force, and an LED lens for brighter lighting. Storm V2 is a clicky switch with 1.8 mm actuation, 65 gf tactile force and a 25% click ratio. Both keep a walled stem to keep dust out.

Tri-mode wireless with long battery life

ROG SpeedNova 2.4 GHz is rated at up to 500+ hours with RGB off, and ASUS quotes about 100+ hours with default lighting. Bluetooth connects up to three devices, and wired USB lets you charge while you play. It also works with the ROG Omni Receiver.

Controls, lighting and Mac support

A multi-function button and wheel control volume, media and lighting, and side light bars plus the translucent plate spread the RGB evenly. In macOS mode the F1-F12 keys switch to Mac actions such as brightness and Mission Control, and settings are made in the web-based Gear Link.

FAQ

Is this the 'V2' version on the supplier list?

No. The keyboard is called ROG Strix Morph 96 Wireless; 'V2' refers to its ROG NX Snow V2 and Storm V2 switches.

Will my own keycaps fit?

ASUS says the south-facing PCB and V2 switches fit most keycaps, including Cherry profile. With some third-party switches there may be minor keycap interference on certain rows.

How do I improve a weak 2.4 GHz connection?

Plug the included dongle extender into the USB cable, put the wireless receiver in the extender, and place it near the keyboard.
