A wall-mounted TV can free up furniture space, but the wall, bracket, cable route and delivery access need checking before you order. Standard installation includes basic cable tidying, not concealed in-wall wiring or wall chasing.
Costs first
The size-based rates below are a quotation reference for delivery, installation and the included bracket. Confirm the TV model, address, access and wall assessment with us before booking; a listed rate does not guarantee that every site can be served.

Store pickup is free; street-level delivery for self-carry is listed at $200. The listed stair rate is $100 per floor, Discovery Bay adds $500, and Ma Wan has no listed surcharge. For a walk-up, confirm carton size and weight, stair width, landings, turns and the on-site carrying conditions before a quote and delivery booking. A per-floor rate is not a promise to carry to any floor. Cheung Chau and Lamma collection is at Central Pier, with no installation service in those two areas; confirm the collection arrangements when ordering.
Quotation example: the listed rates for a 65-inch TV with wall mounting and four chargeable stair floors add up to $600 + $400 = $1,000. This is an arithmetic example, not confirmation that a particular fourth-floor address is accessible. The actual carrying route, weight, wall suitability and booking must be confirmed first.

What kind of wall do you have?
Concrete — check the structure and fixing system
Concrete alone does not guarantee a safe mount at any size. An experienced qualified installer must check the wall's structure, thickness, condition, concealed services, fixing system and the combined TV/bracket load on site.
Brick or lightweight block — depends
Brick and lightweight-block walls vary in construction, thickness and condition. The installer needs to assess the structure and suitable fixing system against the TV and bracket load; the material name alone cannot establish safe mounting.
Plasterboard or timber partitions — usually not
For plasterboard or timber partitions, any screen size requires confirmed structural fixing points and adequate rated load. Material appearance or a knocking sound cannot establish safe support.
Curtain wall or full-height glazing — not possible
Nothing to drill into. Tabletop or a floor stand are the only options.
A photo and building details can help with an initial enquiry, but cannot establish load capacity. Arrange an on-site assessment before installation.
⚠ When we will tell you not to mount
Being straight matters more than one more invoice:
- Any partition without professionally confirmed structural support and load capacity — do not mount until assessed
- Renting, with a landlord who does not allow drilling — making good later can cost more than a cabinet
- Pipes or wiring running behind the wall — drilling into either is a serious repair; do not gamble on unknown routing
- Moving soon — mounting, removing and patching is the job twice over
In these cases a tabletop setup loses very little. Modern TV feet sit tight and low, and the room still looks clean.
Choosing a bracket
Fixed (flush)
A fixed bracket suits a screen facing the sofa when no swivel is needed. Compare the bracket's rated load, VESA fit, cable access and the clearances required by the TV manual. Being fixed does not automatically make it the cheapest or safest option; safety depends on the bracket, wall and installation together.
Tilting
Angles downward slightly. Useful when the screen sits above eye level, such as over a cabinet, cutting glare and neck strain.
Full-motion / articulating arm
An articulating arm can pull out and swivel for different viewing positions. Check its rated load, reach, cable clearance and fixing requirements with the installer; price and distance from the wall depend on the particular bracket and its position.
Our installation includes a bracket, so nothing extra is normally needed. If you want something specific such as a full-motion arm, tell us when ordering and we will quote the difference.
How high should it go?
Set the screen height around comfortable seated eye level, near the screen's middle or slightly below it. Confirm from the actual sofa and viewing position.
Choose height with the installer using your seating, screen size, posture and required clearances. A single floor-to-centre measurement does not suit every room.
On installation day
- Clear the wall area — the installer needs room for a ladder and the carton
- Plan accessible power and cable space with the installer, following ventilation and cable-clearance requirements. Electrical alterations belong with a qualified electrician.
- Have everything ready to connect — soundbar, set-top box, console, all in one pass
- Keep the carton — it matters during the 10-day exchange period
On cable management: cables can be run in surface trunking, or chased into the wall (which is building work). Our standard installation covers neat positioning and basic cable tidying; in-wall chasing is not part of it.
How mounting affects your warranty
Elechid's TV policy provides three years of free on-site inspection and repair labour, with replacement parts quoted separately. Before booking a warranty repair, confirm the removal and re-mounting arrangements under the applicable policy.
FAQ
Do I need to buy a bracket separately?
No — the installation fee includes one. Speciality brackets such as full-motion arms can be arranged separately.
Do you deliver to walk-up buildings?
Ask us to confirm the route before booking. The listed stair rate is $100 per floor, but feasibility depends on the carton dimensions, weight, access and on-site carrying conditions. Confirm the quote and delivery appointment; there is no blanket promise to reach any floor.
Is plasterboard always impossible?
It may be possible with a suitable structure and fixing system, but every TV size requires an on-site professional assessment.
Can I book installation without buying the TV here?
Our installation service accompanies TVs bought from us; we do not take standalone installation jobs.
What if I want it moved later?
Message us for a quote when moving a TV. For warranty work, confirm the applicable removal and re-mounting arrangements first.
How soon do you deliver?
Delivery timing depends on stock, the delivery and installation appointment, address access and any assessment needed. Ask us to confirm the available date and time window before booking; next-day delivery is not guaranteed.
