Frame Dimming adjusts the backlight as a whole; it is not independently zoned local dimming. Sony lists native 120Hz with Motionflow XR 480 (Native 120Hz). The 480 label is motion processing, not native 480Hz or a 4K480 input.
HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision playback require suitable content and a compatible source or app. Processing and upscaling cannot recover detail absent from a low-quality programme. For sport, the source frame rate matters as well as the panel: a 120Hz TV does not turn every broadcast into 120fps footage.

Use compatible equipment, game settings and an appropriate HDMI cable for 4K120. VRR is listed on HDMI 1–4, with ALLM on HDMI 1–4.
