The short version
The Samsung Q65D is the 2024 entry QLED — quantum dot panel, Quantum Processor Lite 4K, Tizen. HK$2,980 in 43 inches.
Buy it if: it is for a bedroom, a smaller living room, or a study, and you want quantum dot colour without paying Mini LED money.
Don't buy it if: you want 4K 120fps gaming — this is not a 120Hz set.
Against the 43" Crystal UHD DUE800 at HK$2,780: it is HK$200 more and adds the quantum dot layer and Dual LED backlight. We think that HK$200 is worth spending.

Key features
Quantum dot: 100% colour volume
Samsung rates this set at 100% Colour Volume with Quantum Dot. What the quantum dot layer does is hold colour saturation as brightness rises — on an ordinary LED set colours wash out as the picture gets brighter, and this is the fix for that.
Dual LED backlight
Dual LED uses two backlight groups of different colour temperature and shifts the balance to suit the content. Warm and cool scenes both look more natural, and contrast improves with it.
Quantum HDR and HDR10+ ADAPTIVE
Alongside Quantum HDR, this set supports HDR10+ ADAPTIVE, which adjusts HDR output to the light level in the room in real time. Hong Kong living rooms swing hard between day and night, so this one earns its keep.
Q-Symphony: add a soundbar without wasting the TV speakers
Normally, connecting a soundbar mutes the television's own speakers. Q-Symphony lets the TV speakers play together with a Samsung soundbar, effectively adding a set of height channels.
The built-in audio is 20W across 2 channels — fine for news and drama, limited for films and sport. To upgrade, see the soundbar range.
Filmmaker Mode
One button turns off every piece of manufacturer picture processing and returns the image to what the director graded. The factory default is usually Standard or Dynamic, with a blue-shifted colour temperature and sharpening pushed too hard — switching to Filmmaker Mode or Movie Mode improves colour accuracy immediately.
Tizen OS and the SolarCell remote
Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, Prime Video and the other major services are all there. The supplied remote is the SolarCell unit (model TM2360E), which charges from room light and daylight, so there are no batteries to replace.
Multi View
Shows two sources at once — a TV programme on one side and content cast from your phone on the other.
Gaming: stated plainly
The set has ALLM auto game mode, Game Motion Plus and HGiG, and switches to low-latency mode automatically when it detects a console. For everyday gaming that is fine.
But to be clear: Samsung's official specification lists a 50Hz refresh rate and HDMI input up to 4K 60Hz. So however well your PS5 or Xbox Series X supports 4K 120fps, it will not run at 120fps on this television.
If you game seriously — FPS, racing, or you bought a current-generation console to get the most out of it — look at the Mini LED range, where the panels run at 120Hz and above.

Recommended viewing distance: 1.1 to 1.7 metres.
43 inches suits a bedroom, a smaller living room, a study, or a kitchen and dining area. If your sofa is more than 2 metres from the screen, 43 inches will feel small and you should be looking at 50 inches or above.

Frequently asked questions
Does it support Alexa?
No. Samsung's official specification lists the voice assistant as Bixby. If you already live in the Alexa ecosystem, know that before you buy.
Can it do 4K 120fps?
No. The official refresh rate is 50Hz and HDMI accepts up to 4K 60Hz. For 120fps you need Mini LED.
Can it get burn-in?
No. QLED is an LCD architecture; burn-in is a self-emissive display issue.
What is the wall mount pattern?
VESA 200 × 200 mm. Look for that figure when buying a bracket.
Will it work on Hong Kong mains?
Yes. The power specification is 220–240V 50/60Hz, matching Hong Kong supply. No transformer needed.
Do the TV speakers still work with a soundbar connected?
With a Samsung soundbar, yes. This set supports Q-Symphony, so the TV speakers and the soundbar play together.
