Start with the complete device model
Photograph the device label and record series, generation and suffix before checking the approved refill list. Mini 2, Mini 3, Mini Shot and Dock names can look similar while using different paper sizes and cartridge systems. Brand and packaging colour are not compatibility checks.
Match Kodak 4PASS sizes and lists
Kodak lists ICRG-260 as 2.1×3.4 inches for the listed Mini 2 and Mini Shot 2 models, ICRG-360 as 3×3, and PHC-80 as 4×6. Pack quantities and regional bundles may differ, so match the actual store SKU. A shared series number is not a universal refill rule.
ZINK and a matching size are not enough
ZINK avoids a separate ink cartridge, but devices still have approved-paper and calibration requirements. Do not present Kodak 2×3 paper as approved for HP Sprocket without HP compatibility evidence. instax mini, SQUARE and WIDE are distinct film formats. Do not open supplies merely to force them into an unsupported device.
Check storage, loading and cost
Follow packaging and manual instructions for unopened and opened supplies, avoiding heat, moisture and direct sun. Do not touch ribbons or use sharp tools to open cartridges. Divide pack price by supported print count, then allow for tests and reprints. Device and current-refill photos make matching more reliable.
Match consumables by supported printer, not size alone
Check full device model, supported-model list, consumable code and yield in that order. Dimensions alone are insufficient.
4PASS needs the matching paper and ribbon system
Kodak 4PASS supplies must match the printer family and the supported-model list on the pack. Mini 3/Mini Shot 3 3×3 supplies differ from Dock 4×6 supplies. The store’s ICRG-330 is a 3×3 30-print pack and PHC-80 is a 4×6 80-print pack, but confirm your full printer model against the supported list. The Kodak name or a similar enclosure colour is not enough.
ZINK does not mean universal cross-brand compatibility
Two packs labelled 2×3 ZINK are not automatically interchangeable. Check printer support, calibration-sheet instructions and the manufacturer’s media requirements. Do not recommend Kodak media for an HP model solely because the dimensions match. Follow the instructions for the calibration sheet supplied with the appropriate pack. Ordinary photo paper is not a substitute for the specified thermal media.
Distinguish the instax formats explicitly
instax mini, SQUARE and WIDE have different supported cameras and printers. Frame size, image area and cartridge format are not the same. Record the exact model from the device or manual and compare it with the pack’s compatibility information. Product imagery may show a family, so check the selected variant and written description, particularly for gift sets and different pack quantities.
Calculate cost from the usable matched set
Use the usable yield of the matched supply set when calculating per-print cost, with an allowance appropriate to testing or reprints. Loose remaining paper does not necessarily equal remaining print capacity if its matching ribbon is exhausted. Store supplies as instructed and avoid mixing packs. If the device reports a media problem, stop and check the model and installation rather than forcing the cartridge or paper.
Four checks before ordering

- ZINK does not mean universal cross-brand compatibility
- Distinguish the instax formats explicitly
- Calculate cost from the usable matched set
Worked examples and detailed buying decisions
Only remembering Kodak square paper is not enough
Find the printer’s model label or the previous consumable pack and record the family, actual size and media code. Similar-looking codes can refer to different quantities or systems. Check ICRG-330 and other ICRG packs against their written supported-model information rather than inferring equivalence from the first letters. If uncertain, establish the exact device before ordering instead of testing the fit by force after delivery.
Why can paper remain when printing stops?
A paper-and-ribbon system can be limited by whichever matched component is exhausted. Remaining loose sheets do not necessarily represent usable print capacity. Follow the replacement instructions for the complete system rather than adding paper from another pack. Troubleshooting also differs by technology: ZINK, 4PASS and instax should not inherit one generic remedy merely because each produces a small photograph.
Is a multipack better value?
First consider whether the supplies will be used under the required storage and handling conditions. A lower nominal cost per print may not help someone who rarely prints. Event users need an allowance for testing and reprints, but there is no universal waste percentage to promise. Clear compatibility, supply availability and the appropriate pack size matter more than accumulating the largest quantity. Use matched usable yield, not loose sheet count, for the calculation.
Keep a replenishment record
Record full printer model, consumable code, format and yield in the home or event kit list. Preserve the official compatibility reference where useful. On the next purchase, still inspect the selected listing rather than ordering from an old picture or the first search result. A changed package or code deserves checking; do not automatically treat old and new versions as identical.
What information should I provide for help?
Supply the printer model and the exact media pack, including any variant selected. A photograph of one loose sheet provides little compatibility evidence. These details make it possible to check the system directly and avoid recommending a same-size product from another brand without manufacturer support.

Frequently asked questions
Does matching paper size mean compatibility?
No. Technology, ribbon, identification and calibration requirements may differ.
Does a cartridge require separate ink?
