JBL Bar 1300MK2: 11.1.4 Soundbar with Detachable Rears and a Dual-Driver Subwoofer
The JBL Bar 1300MK2 combines Dolby Atmos and DTS:X playback with two detachable wireless rear speakers and one wireless subwoofer containing two 8-inch drivers. It does not come with two separate subwoofer cabinets. Six physical up-firing drivers — four in the main bar and one in each rear speaker — serve the system's four height channels.

Real rear speakers and height effects
Detach the rear speakers and place them behind your seating position for surround playback. They do not need power cables while running on their batteries, but they still need recharging. JBL specifies up to 10 hours of battery playback; actual duration depends on the content and volume.
The up-firing drivers reflect sound from the ceiling. Height effects therefore depend on the ceiling, placement and source soundtrack; physical drivers do not guarantee the same result in every room. MultiBeam 3.0 also uses reflected sound to widen the soundstage.
Connections and Hong Kong setup
Connect the HDMI eARC output to a compatible TV, then check the TV's audio output and passthrough settings. The three HDMI inputs can accommodate compatible consoles, streamers and disc players without an AV receiver. Optical is another connection option, but it does not carry every audio format available through eARC.
Confirm the supplied regional SKU before relying on USB playback, bundled power cords or a streaming service. Availability of connected services varies by country, and some require an account, internet access or a subscription. TV channels and video apps are provided by the connected TV or source device, not by the soundbar.
Compare it with other soundbars
The Samsung HW-Q990H 11.1.4 soundbar is another option with separate rear speakers and height channels. Its Q-Symphony feature needs a compatible Samsung TV. JBL's practical distinction here is its rechargeable detachable rears and compact, dual-driver subwoofer — not an extra subwoofer cabinet.
For a smaller budget, compare the JBL Bar 800MK2 and JBL Bar 500 MK2. Room size alone is not a fixed pass/fail rule: allow space for the bar, rear speakers and one subwoofer, and consider seating, neighbours and listening volume.
Frequently asked questions
Does the 1300MK2 include two subwoofers?
No. It includes one wireless subwoofer cabinet containing two 8-inch drivers. Two drivers and two separate subwoofer boxes are different things.
Do the rear speakers need permanent power cables?
No while operating on their charged batteries. Dock them on the main bar to recharge; wireless playback does not mean they never need charging.
Do I need an AV receiver?
No. The soundbar is an integrated system. Check that your TV and source devices support the audio formats and connections you intend to use.
Buying from Elechid and warranty
This international-version soundbar has 30-day warranty cover from Elechid, subject to the soundbar warranty terms. It is not sold as Hong Kong authorised-distributor stock with a Hong Kong manufacturer's warranty. The three-year on-site inspection and repair-labour cover described for eligible international-version TVs does not apply to this soundbar.
