ProArt PA40SU is a slim USB4 enclosure for creators moving large video and 3D files. It reaches up to 40 Gbps with NVMe SSDs in 2230 or 2280 size, uses a four-level smart fan to avoid throttling, and opens without tools. SSD not included.

- USB4 up to 40 Gbps: Full speed needs a true USB4 40 Gbps port, the included cable and an SSD rated above 3,500 MB/s. ASUS notes some Thunderbolt 4 or USB-C ports may drop to 10 Gbps.
- Active cooling, quietly: A four-level smart fan manages heat during long transfers; ASUS measured 18.2 dB(A) and no throttling over 30 minutes of continuous copying in its test.
- Slim, tool-free, with a dashboard app: The 13.5 mm Stealth Black case opens with a push-to-open mechanism, and the ProArt SSD Dashboard shows drive health and performance in real time.

FAQ
Can I use a SATA M.2 SSD?
No. ASUS lists M-key M.2 NVMe PCIe SSDs in 2230 and 2280 sizes, up to 4 TB. For SATA drives, look at the TUF Gaming A2 or ASUS Cobble instead.
