Front and side-firing drivers handle the width; the two rear speakers behind the sofa deliver surround sound that genuinely comes from behind you — footsteps, rainfall, vehicles passing, with real directional placement rather than processor-simulated approximation. The Bar 800MK2 combines physical rear surrounds with processed height effects. For physical up-firing drivers, compare the Bar 1300MK2; the MK2 suffix alone does not describe a shared driver layout.

Detachable Wireless Rear Speakers

The two rears clip magnetically onto the ends of the bar and recharge automatically while docked — nothing extra to plug in day to day. Lift them off, set them behind the sofa, and internal batteries run them for up to ~10 hours — a full surround layout with zero cable on the floor. Is the Dolby Atmos on the Bar 800MK2 real or virtual?

The 800MK2 has real rear speakers; its height presentation uses processing. Speaker placement, the soundtrack and room reflections affect the result.

Are the rear speakers wireless, and how long do they run?

Fully wireless. They recharge automatically when docked on the bar and run up to ~10 hours off the dock — comfortably two or three films.

Does the subwoofer need a cable?

Only power. It pairs wirelessly, so place it wherever the bass sounds best — corners for maximum output, beside the TV cabinet to save space.

Do I need an AV receiver?

No. This is a self-contained 7.1 system; a single HDMI eARC connection to the TV completes the install.
