The Yaber L3 SideShift is aimed at rooms where the practical projector position is beside the sofa or bed, rather than directly opposite the screen. Its Hong Kong listing combines up to 30-degree side correction with AirPlay 2, Apple HomeKit and VIDAA OS. That makes placement flexibility and Apple-device integration the reasons to consider it, while native 1080p defines the projected detail.
Side placement still needs an optical plan
The listed 1.24:1 throw ratio gives calculated lens-to-screen distances of approximately 2.20 m for 80 inches, 2.75 m for 100 inches and 3.29 m for 120 inches at 16:9. These estimates assume a centred, uncorrected picture; they are not a guarantee for a projector placed 30 degrees sideways. Measure your proposed position and use the throw-distance and placement table.
Basco describes optical-engine correction up to 30 degrees. That wording does not establish mechanical lens shift or guarantee every angled installation. Ask for the placement diagram and check corner focus at your chosen position. Any digital correction used can reduce image area and detail; obstacle avoidance may resize a picture around fittings, but cannot project through furniture.
Basco's exact Hong Kong L3 page specifies 1200 ISO lumens, differing from Elechid's earlier 1200 ANSI label. Use the supplier's stated ISO figure without converting it into ANSI, and confirm the supplied unit's rating. AirPlay, HomeKit and VIDAA serve different purposes
AirPlay 2 provides an Apple playback or mirroring path; HomeKit concerns integration and control. Neither guarantees every subscription app will allow casting. Basco advertises Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ and ViuTV on VIDAA, which has its own catalogue rather than Google Play. Confirm your required Hong Kong app, account and playback method on the supplied firmware.
A compatible HDMI streaming device is an alternative when your preferred service is absent; no streamer is assumed included. Protected phone content can still produce a black screen, so consult the phone-casting black-screen guide. The listed JBL stereo speakers provide 8 W per side with Dolby Audio for a compact setup.

Practical questions
Is the L3 native 4K?
No. Its listed native panel is 1920 × 1080. Compatible 4K decoding does not change the projected pixel grid.
Can it sit anywhere near a socket?
Only within the supported placement and ventilation limits. Plan a mains supply; no battery runtime is specified. A stable side table also needs enough depth for the unit, cables and airflow.
