⚠ Note the HDMI arrangement: all four ports are HDMI 2.1 at 4K 144Hz. Many sets at this price give you one or two. A PS5, an Xbox Series X, a gaming PC and a soundbar can all stay connected.
Why the picture is different from a QLED or Mini LED
Every pixel on an OLED panel makes its own light. When a pixel shows black it switches off completely — absolute black, no glow, no halo around bright objects. No LED, QLED or Mini LED television can do this, because they all shine a backlight through the panel and some light always escapes into the dark areas.
In practice this is what you notice on the S90F: starfields, night scenes, letterbox bars, dark interiors. If you watch films in the evening with the lights down, it is the single biggest picture upgrade available.
The Quantum Dot layer widens colour volume, so saturated colours stay accurate at high brightness rather than washing out — a neon street scene or a bright beach keeps its punch. OLED also holds its picture at an angle far better than any LCD, so everyone on the sofa sees the same image, not just the person sitting centre.

NQ4 AI Gen3 and upscaling
The NQ4 AI Gen3 analyses each frame and reconstructs detail in lower-resolution material. This matters more in Hong Kong than the spec sheet suggests: local free-to-air digital terrestrial television is 1080i, not 4K, and streaming is compressed. Most of what you watch is not native 4K, so how well a TV upscales affects your daily picture more often than the panel does.
HDR: HDR10+, and no Dolby Vision
The S90F supports OLED HDR+, HDR10+ and HLG. Like every Samsung TV, it does not support Dolby Vision.
Is that a problem in 2026? Much less than it used to be. Every major streaming service — Prime Video, Netflix, Apple TV+, YouTube, Disney+, Hulu, Paramount+ — now supports HDR10+. Dolby Vision still matters in two situations: you buy 4K Blu-ray discs, where Dolby Vision is far more common, or you use an Apple TV 4K box, which outputs it. If either applies, look at the LG C6 instead.
Gaming: what the 144Hz actually means
OLED's near-instant pixel response means essentially no motion smearing, which is a real advantage in fast games. On top of that:
- 120Hz panel, up to 144Hz over HDMI 2.1 in game mode — for a capable PC or the latest consoles
- VRR and FreeSync Premium Pro — no tearing, less stutter
- Auto Game Mode (ALLM) — switches to low latency automatically when a console wakes
- Game Bar — check frame rate and latency, switch to 21:9 or 32:9 Ultra Wide Game View mid-game
- Four HDMI 2.1 ports, all capable — no juggling cables

Sound: 40W, Dolby Atmos and Q-Symphony
A 40W 2.1-channel system with Dolby Atmos and Object Tracking Sound Lite, which moves the sound to follow on-screen action. It is genuinely decent for a panel 4 mm thick.
But if you are spending HK$10,980 or more on the picture, budget for a soundbar. The S90F's Q-Symphony is the reason: with a compatible Samsung soundbar connected, it does not mute the TV speakers — it plays both together, using the TV's drivers to widen and lift the soundstage. Most TVs simply switch themselves off. Connect over HDMI eARC and Dolby Atmos passes through intact.

For most Hong Kong living rooms the 65 inch is the right answer — it fits a 2.0–2.7 m sofa distance, which describes the majority of flats, and at HK$10,980 it is the accessible way into OLED.

S90F or S95F? Where the extra money goes
The S95F sits above the S90F in Samsung's 2025 OLED range. In our stock:
That is roughly double the price at both sizes. The S95F is the flagship and it earns its position, but the S90F already has the OLED panel, the 4K 144Hz gaming suite, HDMI 2.1 on all four ports and the same Tizen platform. For most buyers, the honest advice is to take the S90F and put the difference into a soundbar and professional installation.
S90F or QN90F? OLED against Mini LED
This is the comparison most people actually face — but note first that the sizes do not line up. The QN90F comes in 75, 85 and 98 inch (from HK$31,980), while the S90F is 65, 77 and 83. There is no size where you can compare them like for like.
- Choose the QN90F if your living room is genuinely bright — a big window behind or beside the sofa, afternoon sun, no curtains. Mini LED goes brighter than OLED, and in that room brightness beats contrast
- Choose the S90F if you watch mostly in the evening or with the lights down, care about film and dark-scene detail, or want the wider viewing angle for a sofa that seats several people. It is also considerably cheaper at comparable sizes

⚠ At 77 and 83 inch, "on-site" is the part that matters. Nobody wants a 1.7-metre OLED panel taken out of their flat and carried to a service centre. A technician who comes to you is the difference between an afternoon and a fortnight.
