Security Cameras

The most common regret with a home camera isn't resolution. It's finding out after fitting that the cable won't reach, the Wi-Fi is weak, or there's no socket by the door. So this page starts with power and connection, then covers resolution, doorbells and where recordings are stored. Every EZVIZ product here is Hong Kong licensed stock: indoor pan-tilt cameras, outdoor cameras, 4G battery cameras, video doorbells, smart door viewers, recorders (NVRs) and a monitor screen.

Choose the power source first: mains, PoE or battery

Plug-in Wi-Fi cameras: the usual choice at home

The H6C series, H1C, C7 Dual and S10 run from a wall socket and sit on a shelf or mount on a wall. Check the Wi-Fi band: the H1C is 2.4 GHz only, while the H6C G1 and H6C Pro 3K are dual-band and you choose the band during setup. If the camera is far from your router the picture will stutter, so it's worth looking at our routers collection too.

PoE wired cameras: shops, village houses and storerooms

The H4 PoE, H5 PoE and H8c PoE have no Wi-Fi. One network cable carries both power and data, which is the most reliable setup. You'll need a PoE switch or a router with PoE ports; otherwise buy a 12 V adapter separately. The H5 4G and H3c come with an adapter, and the H5 4G can use either a network cable or 4G.

4G and battery cameras: no Wi-Fi needed

The EB3 4G, HB8 Lite 4G and CB2 4G connect through a nano SIM, which you supply; the HB8 Lite also has Wi-Fi. They suit building sites, small shops, flats under renovation or anywhere a cable is awkward. EZVIZ publishes the European version's 4G bands, so if you want to check a particular network's SIM, WhatsApp us first. Battery cameras can be paired with an EZVIZ solar panel where supported, but check the model, as not every panel fits every camera.

Resolution and field of view

1080p is enough to see whether someone is moving in a room; 2K and 3K show faces and detail from further away; 4K (such as the H6C G1) is the sharpest but makes bigger files, so choose a larger memory card. Pan-tilt cameras turn 340° to 350°, so one camera can cover a whole room. The C7 Dual has two lenses: a wide one for the full scene and a 6 mm lens for detail. Indoor cameras generally see about 10 m at night, while the outdoor PoE cameras reach up to about 30 m with infrared, and some models add colour night vision.

Video doorbells and smart door viewers

  • EP8 Ultra: two lenses, a 6 MP top camera for visitors and a 1080p bottom camera for parcels on the floor, with an indoor AI screen and 32 GB of built-in storage.
  • EP3x Dual: battery doorbell with an indoor chime, 2K top and 1080p bottom lenses and radar detection.
  • EP4: a smart door viewer that fits the existing peephole (14–50 mm hole, 35–105 mm door), with a 5.5-inch indoor touch screen and a 4K camera.

Common areas outside Hong Kong flats may not allow fixtures, so check with your building management before fitting a doorbell or door viewer.

Where recordings go: memory card, cloud or NVR

  • Memory card: most cameras take a microSD card (up to 512 GB, sold separately), with no monthly fee.
  • Cloud: the EZVIZ CloudPlay 7-day card activates cloud recording on one camera for 12 months; the camera needs to stay online.
  • X5S wireless NVR: up to 8 channels for mains-powered Wi-Fi cameras (battery cameras and doorbells are not supported), with HDMI and VGA outputs; hard disk sold separately.
  • R5C home NAS/NVR: 24/7 recording for up to 8 EZVIZ cameras, with one SATA bay (up to 8 TB; hard disk sold separately).
  • SD7 monitor: a 7-inch touch screen for up to 30 EZVIZ devices, so you can check the door and cameras without a phone.

FAQ

Do EZVIZ cameras need a monthly fee?

No. With a microSD card the camera records locally with no subscription. Consider CloudPlay if you want footage to survive even if the camera is taken.

Do the PoE cameras come with a power adapter?

The H4 PoE, H5 PoE and H8c PoE come without an adapter or network cable, so use a PoE switch or buy a 12 V adapter. The H5 4G and H3c include an adapter.

What SIM card do the 4G cameras use?

A nano SIM data card, not included. EZVIZ publishes the European bands, and not every network may work, so WhatsApp us before ordering if you want to check.
